Our next Coffee with the Principal will be a Parent Workshop presented by a YWCA Prevention Educator. The presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 2 at 9 am in C104. This workshop focuses on increasing parent's knowledge of what children learned in YWCA Silicon Valley's CAP (Child Abuse Prevention) program and tools you can use to reduce the risk of child sexual abuse. During the 75 minute workshop, parents will learn more about red flags, body boundaries, consent, and strategies on how to hold discussions about these topics with your children. Parents will leave with useful tools--including a parent handbook and resources in the community.

I am happy to report that we received the 2018 California Distinguished School Award! I was notified on February 8th that Carolyn Clark was eligible for this award based on our CAASPP scores. We had a 12 point increase in our reclassification percentage and were high performing in ALL categories and sub groups. The application was due by March 12th. I was just notified and thought I'd share the exciting news with our parent community. We wouldn't be a California Distinguished School without your support... THANK YOU! Mrs. Juarez

Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is a way for schools to encourage good behavior. With PBIS, kids learn about behavior, just as they learn other subjects like math or science. The key to PBIS is prevention, not punishment.
